JSONPathHub ("we", "us") is responsible for jsonpathhub.com. This page describes the data we handle and the control you have over it. The summary: the document and query you paste never leave your device, because that is where the calculation runs.

The tool this policy covers

JSONPathHub is a JSONPath tester that runs JSONPath queries against a JSON document with live autocomplete and syntax error detection. It evaluates the path expression against the document tree and returns the matching nodes, reporting the point where a malformed expression breaks rather than failing silently. Everything below concerns that specific calculation and the values it involves, and nothing beyond it.

Everything the tool works with — the document and query you paste — is handled locally. It is usually reached for things like debugging a query that returns nothing, and because nothing is transmitted a visitor can close the tab knowing no copy was made anywhere.

Your inputs

This site has no backend that receives what you type. The page reads your input to compute an answer, shows it to you, and forgets it — because nothing was ever sent anywhere in the first place. The arithmetic is identical regardless of who is looking at the screen.

Under-13 users

JSONPathHub provides general-purpose tools and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information held about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not store what you enter, there is usually no personal data to produce — but you are welcome to ask.

Changes to this policy

If the way we handle data ever changes, this page will be revised and the date at the top adjusted accordingly. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

What is collected automatically

Standard server logs are generated when your browser requests a page. They cover technical details like your IP address, browser, referring URL and timestamps, and are used only to keep the site running and secure. None of it is linked to the input you give the tool.

How cookies and adverts work here

We set a cookie only to remember whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. Third-party advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can control personalized advertising in your browser settings or through Google's ad settings. Blocking cookies does not affect the tool: the calculation requires none.

What our statistics cover

Usage statistics, when collected, are anonymous and aggregated. They tell us which pages are useful; they do not identify you and they never include your input to the calculator.

Code, config and payloads

Code, configuration, tokens and API payloads you paste into a tool are processed locally. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing leaves a copy on a server — which also means you can use the tool on a string you would not want to send anywhere.

Security and data retention

Retention is close to a non-question here, because almost nothing personal is retained. What you enter lives in the tab; the site itself is served over TLS and maintained as needed.
